Gun Safe Humidity

A friend asked me this morning what the proper humidity should be in a safe. He said he has a meter that reads 55 0/0, but wondered if that was correct. I don't recall ever reading what we would want it to be, but I'm sure we have someone here that can tell us the range to shoot for!

I thought it was More about internal temp. 72 deg can't hold humidity in the air very well so 72 is a great temp to keep it at.

Had an apartment one time that the a/c was f'd up and when I was on vacation one summer it went out. Got back after a week and most of my guns had a slight rust on them.

The large evadry works perfect in my fatboy, just plug it into the wall every 3-4 weeks for a couple hours and it's brand new. Not sure about a temp, never really thought about this, thanks for getting my mind rolling. Never had a rust/moist problem.
