I've got 2 Fortress safes from Atwoods. I think they're better than the Cannon stuff you see at most big box stores. Good, solid safes. Anything is better than nothing, and I'm surprised no one has said it yet - buy the biggest you can afford.


I agree with the better that nothing statement. I have a canon and it works fine. I originally purchased it with the dial and wanted to convert it to digital. Canon sent me the digital lock setup for free. They have great customer service. I mean honestly, how many thieves are going to take the time to break into your safe? I would think a high percentage of thieves are there to get in and out as fast as possible and not waste that time. So protect your firearms from the lazy thieves and fire. If you can afford water protection, get that too as you'll quickly find out more than just your guns will end up in there.
