Technically, almost all of our domesticated food sources, both plant- and animal-based, are genetically modified--it has been done over the centuries by selectively breeding for desired traits.
Don't like it at all, I've seen the movie "Rampage." Doubt we have a Duane Johnson that can save us from the monsters this will create...

However some genetically modified crops have been a good thing for the human race, like Corn and Wheat. When it comes to animals not a huge fan. Not for religious reasons, but unchecked science is never good, especially when combined with politics.

Don't mess with Mother Nature. changing through breeding is one thing, you start changing the DNA in any way else you may get things you can not handle.
Man I'm torn. I'm a big believer in selective breeding but I dunno. Somehow this seems like a bridge too far. I hope in a hundred years mankind can look back and make fun of this Boomer for being an old curmudgeon and trying to keep people off her lawn.
