You should have hollered. I would have joined you...

...for a minute.

Nah dude, it was brutal. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

And I'm not talking about the heat.

I dunno how many here have ever had a kid (or grandkid) in competitive swim, but you sit there all gotdamn day until it's his or her time, then it lasts about 30-45 seconds. Then, you wait around for another hour or so, until their next event, which, again, lasts for about 30-45 seconds. He usually has 3 or 4 events total.

We were there from about 10am (it started at 9) and left about 1:30/2 o'clock. Frying in the sun. They are usually held indoors, but the Shawnee YMCA was hit hard by the tornado this past spring.

Buddy of mine, on his home weather station, recorded 109.2, yesterday in Del City.
Guess there's a cold front moving in, KFOR shows a high of only 104 today.

Was supposed to swap my alternator today. 107°? F-that. I'll keep it on the trickle charger for a few days and wait till later in the week when it drops below face melting temps....I don't need to go ANYWHERE that badly!

Or the week after!

I have the timer on my phone set. My chickens already look stressed so I'm gonna go out every couple of hours and swap out waterers so everyone has COOL water to drink all day. I dunno how much good it would do to set up a box fan but I am definitely gonna turn the sprinkler on at 2 and see if I can lower the ambient air temp in that corner of the yard. I already left the garage door open -- the chicks will go in there until it hears way up this afternoon.

I am NOT leaving this house for NUTHIN'! Not even if it catches fire -- I'd guess it would still be cooler in here than out there ... Lol

Might try a portable mister for the chickens and Dawg. We got an Orbit brand portable misting stand from Lowes. Ran a hose to it and placed it a spot shaded by some trees. Put the mister/hose connection over a storage box lid to catch any leaks. Our girls stand in the mist about all day long and wade in the water-filled lid.

Hmmmm ... Maybe I AM gonna go out after all. Thanks!! And Dawg is SO spoilt. When we go out he lets me know that I am taking too long and it IS time to go in when he is done laying in the sun. With his black coat that takes about 3 minutes these days. Lol I watched him get OFF his usual spot on the patio and move to the grass yesterday. Must have been a little TOO toasty for him. 😂 He just gave me a look like "Don't say it. DO NOT SAY ANYTHING!" 😂😂
