It's a relatively new battery charger that has a few different charging settings. One of which is a "start" setting that I haven't tried on this mower yet.
All that does is boost the cranking amps when the load, starter, calls for more amperage. It works well.

The Courage or the Command? I ‘think’ the courage has a history of the piston pin working out and punching the piston through the block

I'll have to do some research to answer that one . . . but the engine model number is SV720S build date is 7/17/2006.

Haha, yes ours throws the deck belt and mostly when the wife is starting it up. I have tried a few brands of belt and they either don’t last long or come off. The one we have on it now wouldn’t stay on a minute until I put extra tension on the tensioner until it broke in and it has been great since.

Yep. Among other things about it that are crappy. Mine has another common problem that amounts to backfiring after being shutoff immediately after being used heavily. If I let it cool down (idle) for a couple min it is good to go. Factory remedy is to kill the engine at full throttle but that is a joke. On the other hand it has 10 years on it and still runs

Up to now I've only had to replace belts . . . and I think we're on our 4th battery. We're at like 225 hours or so.

Does yours randomly throw belts due to the tension spring on the deck coming loose? That seems to almost happen every time my wife gets on it. :)

This happens from running into things...........usually when my wife is mowing........ask me how I know lol.
