Before I begin, let me start by saying I DO NOT own a horse, nor do I want one. However. My Winchester needs some type of scabbard and I feel like a carbine such as this one demands to be carried in a saddle type of leather scabbard.

Now then. Not wanting to spend a hundred or more dollars, I found a couple on the web that I kinda like and I want the opinions of my friends and family here at OSA.

Here's one from http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/guide-gear-leather-rifle-scabbards.aspx?a=282557

Here's another one from http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...ct&cmCat=Related_IPL_225858&id=0012656221412a

Whatcha think? :anyone:

Please keep in mind that leather will draw moisture... If you plan on keeping your lever wrapped in leather, you will need to break it out once a month and keep it oiled. Also, you will see some holster wear, not a big deal for most old Winchesters, but not advisable if you have a gun your proud of.

If you can hold off til the Big Show, in Tulsa, you can pick and choose from hundreds of custom leather jobs, for about the same money as you're looking at online. I picked up a couple a few years ago for a darn good price.
