Mag capacity for semi auto when coyote hunting?

I'm taking an AR to hunt yotes this week. Are there mag limits? Or can I use my 30 rounder?

No, use a 5 round mag. No logic to it, I assume it's easier to have a fixed capacity regulation then to list by species.

the mag capacity is only for .22 cal firearms and i believe it is 7

Correct. The mag capacity limit only applies to deer hunting, and then only for .22 caliber.

the ar platform may be the perfect coyote gun for this reason alone. you can get multiple shots on a running dog. if the dirt flies in front or behind him, just correct your lead.

AR's with a 30 rnd mag can also take multiple dogs together vs being heavily restricted with a bolt gun when trying to take multiple dogs.

I use 30 rounders when at the farm in case multiple coyotes show up
