When I was a kid the only place to eat steak in Osage county was in Fairfax at Jumps.

And I barely remember it but seems like we used to go to a place for BBQ in Ponca City called 'The Blue Moon'? The sauce was kind of a dark and thick sauce. Been a very long time since Ive been to Ponca. Have relatives there I need to go visit some day. Thats my Kaw side.

Yep, the sirloin for two at jumps and curly fries was the king! In its heyday you would wait for an hour to get a steak.
About Danny Head(head country BBQ) and brad, your correct. They grew up in the shidler area. Danny's BBQ sauce was actually his grandpas receipe. Danny refined it when he started selling it.
