PSA. Harbor Freight Pittsburgh Jack Stands Recall

This is probably more for the gear heads section but too important not to list here. If you use these jack stands stop.

In my second pic I was using Pittsburgh 3ton jack stands.

The facebook groups are raging against HF for this latest safety issue from them. Guess the problem is the shallow 'teeth' on the cast support, but HF is johnny on the spot having replacement items in stock nationwide for the most part, first come first served style.

Glad you didn't become a statistic using em, but kind of sorry you didn't earn $6million the hard way.

This explains what I saw yesterday. I was in their store in Ponca yesterday and a guy came in with a set of them. I didn't think too much about it until I saw a pile of jack stands against the wall.

Note to self.....don't buy something at HF that if it would fail, will kill you.

When I use Jack stands I also use floor Jacks on each side for back up if I'm actually under the vehicle.

Love my jack stands which have a pin through the shaft, not those teeth.
