Here's a basic hunting knife. Nicholson file blade with Elk antler. Brass guard with red spacers. I like the old timey look so I dip it in ferric and it usually looks old lol

So what's the general process on these, heat the file to remove tempering, grind then re-temper? Simple as that, lol?

yes that's it re-heat treat, and then temper
