And many wrong things have been done in the name of Christ, and just like the wrongs being committed by some in the name of Mohammad wrong is wrong. But we sure don't want to have the history of christianity's wrongs define the whole religion now do we?

Christians do not deny the wrongs done in the name of Christianity. In today's world the 97% of "non-violent" Muslims are not doing anything to stop the 3% of violent Muslims. So either the 97% support the 3% or they are cowards. Either way, Muslims cannot be trusted.

Nice history lesson. Enjoyed the read.

The problem we have is now, is that Christians aren't killing Jews, and Jews aren't killing Lutherans for their personal beliefs.
Muslims are killing other muslims because their sect may have some different beliefs. Sunni vs Shia.

They both believe in the Quran but differ in the succession of Mohammad.

Then you have the Sufi's, Quranists, and Kharijites, all of which would kill another muslim if their belief in the quran differed from theirs.

Christian extremists have killed thousands of Muslims, Hindus, and unbelievers over large areas of Africa and Asia and the killings continue to this day.
Nobody cares and it's almost never on the news.

Here at home our most recent episode was when a anti-biracial families, anti-Semitic, and anti-gay Christian Identity follower named Larry McQuilliams opened fire on 3 buildings in downtown Austin and attempted to burn down the Mexican consulate before he was killed.

Eric Rudolph
, the Olympic park bobmber, was another member of the Christian Identity movement was responsible for a series of bombings that killed 2 people and injured 111 more.

Army of God member, John C. Salvi, killed two people in two separate planned parenthood shootings.

Another Army of God member, Charles Kopp, opened fire on the home of doctor Barnett Slepian and killed him.
He claimed he only wanted to scare the abortion doctor but he was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

On July 27, 2008, Christian Right sympathizer Jim David Adkisson walked into the Knoxville Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee during a children’s play and began shooting people at random. Two were killed, while seven others were injured but survived.

I know what you are going to say: those are the extremists. :)

You're certainly correct in that you have to search high and low to find these extremist attacks in the name of Christianity, whereas you can pretty much don a blindfold and stick a pin in a world map to find the same for Islam in the past 20 years. I wonder how the miniscule percentage of violent Christian adherents stacks up to the percentage of violent Islam adherents? Better yet, perhaps we should examine how each majority deals with their violent minorities?
