Just because the 1924 Immigration Act has influenced the immigration policy of the US for the last 100 years doesn’t mean that it is right nor that it isn’t based on prejudice and racism.

Eugenics. Scientific Racism. Quota systems that ranked people based upon where they came from and almost completely excluded others. The desire to maintain a certain racial composition of the American. Go read up on who drafted the Immigration Act of 1924 which most of the ideas that you and many others think are reasonable come from. Today we use coded language like culture or say it’s a plan to bring in new voters for the other party, or an invasion force. It’s still the same fear mongering.

Claiming that our traditional criteria for granting acceptance to applicants for immigration is racist instead of based on rational characteristics (education, skills, absence of criminal history, clear of communicable diseases, mental acuity, sanity, etc) all of which lend to the reasonable assumption that they will contribute positively to our society instead of presenting a burden on our tax payers, natural resources and social services agencies, suggests to me that the narrative behind the absurd claim originated in the furtive, insidious little minds of leftist strategists in the relentless pursuit of their agenda to undermine and subvert our culture, economy, system of justice, and our form of government so that the population will willfully accept an alternative to government under the tyrannical bonds of socialism….. The only difference between the Marxist’s Critical Theory and Critical Race Theory is the addition of the word ‘Race’. It is unimaginable and strange to me that Liberals have consciously ignored the origin and purpose behind political narratives that have emerged from the shadowy and deceptive domain from which they are born. My comments are not meant to denigrate the validity of those actually fleeing for their lives due to actual political persecution; but in a world that seems bent on accepting socialist tyrannies, there is no conceivable way that we can provide refuge for all after they realize what socialism really entails.

Those traditional “rational” characteristics like barring people from the Asiatic zone, creating a quota system that set limits to the number of immigrants allowed in to 3% of the foreign born population from each nationality, that were living in the US with exceptions for the Western hemisphere, and literacy. They codified into law the racism that existed in that time period. These laws were meant to preserve the majority white population. Later there were some changes, but no doubt in anyone’s mind that many of these “rational” characteristics still remain or at least the intentions to this day.

You can all go on calling for “limited immigration”, calling “illegals” crossing the “open” border “invaders”, talk about “preserving [your] culture”; but all of that only makes other rational people see that you have a hatred towards other human beings. Because all of that rhetoric is used to dehumanize the people who are trying to immigrate into this country or people that are coming here to work.

You’re conflating legal immigration with illegal immigration, which is a political tactic that leftists like to use.
My take is I support legal & orderly immigration based on numbers we can support. We need to know the identity & health history & criminal history of everyone wanting to come here. The border should be closed except for the legal ports of entry. That’s not dehumanizing, that’s maintaining the safety of a sovereign nation.

Lots of bones to pick here. I'll start with your equating literacy to racism. Where is the logic in that?

I guess that you are among the rational people seeing hatred in others. I see the hatred in you of those other people who you consider not to be rational.

People who come here to work enter through the gates, not wade across a river or through razor wire, etc.
