I prefer the piston-powered demos; there's just something about hearing the big radials on Whistling Death or the Flying Fortress flying low overhead. Plus, they move so much slower that they spend more time in good viewing range; the F18s and F16s just have to carry too much airspeed.

FWIW, a friend of mine got to see the Blue Angels when they were still flying A4 Skyhawks, and he said that was a better show--the little hot rod A4s just had more maneuverability and could come in slower so they were in better view longer.

I got that beat. I saw them when they were flying F4s.

I got to agree with Dave70968, the Snowbirds and the Red Baron Stearman teams both put on the finest team exhibition that I've ever had the pleasure to witness. I love them all though.
