Well that was the question originally-the regs day I don’t need a license on my own land. I just wanted to confirm that because it sounds too good to be true.

You don't need the annual hunting license on your own land ,but you do need the deer permits ,turkey permits etc. When you kill those animals you log it on the permit and tag it with your name and permit info and that tag can be made of anything. Most small game etc you won't need permits or to tag it ,it's all spelled out in the regs

A game warden answered in here. Jared is a game warden. The Resident General Hunting License is the license not required per his statement. However, the deer license is still required for each deer you are hunting.

Or better yet, invest in a lifetime hunting license.

But always glance through the regs as thing change from year to year.

You do not need a license for fishing on your own land nor any tags..

License, tag, permit....this was all easily understood before the internet came along. You bought a hunting license at the sporting store counter( Walmart, kmart, OTASCO, etc.). If you just hunted small game, that's all you needed. Then if you hunted deer or turkey you went back and bought a tag/permit and then hunted. Simple.

Now your license/tag/permit is all on one piece of paper if purchased that way. For example it may read...
    Annual Resident Hunting license
    Either sex archery
    Either sex archery
    Antlered only Firearms
    Resident annual trapping
    HIP permit
    Sandhill crane permit

You can buy that all at once and all those deer permits you bought will have the same ID number at the top. Or you can buy each one of those separately and carry seven pieces of paper in your wallet lol. When you shoot a deer or Turkey take any piece of paper and put the required info and attach it to the animal.

    Landowners or Tenants
Resident landowners or tenants who hunt only
on land owned or agriculturally leased by them
(not including hunting leases) are exempt from the
    hunting license
    . Resident landowners who hunt
waterfowl and other migratory game birds only
on their own property are exempt from the Okla-
homa waterfowl license and HIP requirements.
Only resident landowners or tenants or such
individuals’ children who trap on land owned
or agriculturally leased by such owners or ag-
ricultural lessees (not including hunting leases)
are exempt from purchasing a trapping license.
Persons residing in another state who own
land in Oklahoma but do not live on that land
are considered nonresidents and are not exempt.

You will still need a deer "license/tag/permit" to hunt deer.

The waterfowl regulations are a little misleading here. On your own land, you don't need any license or tag issued by Oklahoma, but you do need a Federal Duck Stamp.
