Walther P22 ammo what does it like to eat?

Guys & Gals,
I have an Active duty Navy LCDR asking me some questions into which ammo these will feed reliable with?

He just bought one for his wife for defense and shooting and was asking me so I am now asking you all. What would be some good ammo for defense as well?

I have only run CCI Green Tag through mine. Got maybe 1200 (suppressed) rounds through it (only two cleanings) without issue.

Hey Matt,
when I bought my p22 I was told to use cci mini mags for break in. I went through 600 rounds of mini mags and they ran fine. After the 600, I switched to federal bulk packs and they ran fine. If used Remington bulk packs and they run fine. For SD I would probably go with cci stingers.

I had an older German Carl Walther P-22 thy would eat anything. I ran mostly mini-mag and win through it, but it would eat fed bulk just fine. Stay away from Stingers, they have a reputation for cracking S&Wwalther slides

We use the Winchester M22 bulk stuff it runs great in the P22 and all of our 22s

the one i had wouldn't run anything ,sold it and bought and m&p 22(also made by walther) and it works great
