Forgot to update this thread. We ended up getting a 1/2 beef + an extra 69lbs of hamburger in Campo, Colorado. Total came out to around $2100. Was only about an hour and a half drive for me. Left in the morning early enough that I didn’t even have to bring coolers. Just stuck it in the back of my pickup bed and came back home. Still frozen.
Colorado ? Higher THC content ? Liberal beef ? Fancy imported beef ? Beef that never shaved it's armpits ? lmao.

GED, any chance you meant 238? $952.71/478 = $1.99/lb. Plus, getting 478 lbs on a half beef makes that a big f'ng steer! The steer we purchased started around 1150 lbs live weight and ended up being 530 lbs processed including neck and soup bones. Ours was 100% grass fed and no fattening with corn. Doesn't have as much marbling but outstanding beef.

The last half we bought from my brother was the biggest steer he's butchered. We ended up with just over 457 lbs. of beef.

We put up a whole (lowline angus) mini and it went from about 800 to 330 in the freezer.
