Prepped another few pieces of 6.5x47 brass. Shot the final test loads trying to dial in a hunting combo Thursday.

Best I'm going to get at 100 yards with the 120gr Nosler BT looks like it is going to be in the .6 - .7 range. If it will hold at a reasonable distance (~ 300 - 350 yards), I'll be fine with that. It certainly isn't my primary hunting rig...more like side door rig during rifle season, or maybe the occasional coyote.

Strangely enough. My 120gr Scenar-L load and 120gr NBT load are almost twins. The only difference is primer (which I may just have to test). Same 36.0gr of N150 with a +/- of .1gr without suffering any accuracy loss. COAL is within .005, and CBTO within .010. Velocity is also within 20 FPS, and my POIs on the target are within 1/4" at 100 yards.

The biggest difference is that the 120gr Scenar-L shoots groups almost half the size, along with an ES and SD to match. Definitely going to have to give the BR-4 primers a try (instead of 450) with the Noslers.

Cold and windy today at the Range, but I had it all to myself. After a 6 round barrel break in with a 7th fouler, I started a Satterlee Test on my Tikka. .020" Jump Alpha Virgin Brass H4350 from 39.7 to 41.5. This test produced some really decent results in my .300 PRC, so went with it again. Found what I think are two good nodes.

Going to load up 5 rounds at 40.6 grains and 5 rounds at 41.4. I'll also load up 5 of each and shoot them at 300 yards. I'm very close to the factory loading of this bullet with the same barrel length.

That nice clover leaf on dot #4 was my first 3 round group during barrel break in. It was shots 4, 5 and 6. The 4th round in that group was after I cleaned the barrel and fouled it before I started my load test. That ammo was made for another 6.5 Creedmoor that shot lights out. I loaded 120 rounds of it to use a hunting ammo.

Finished filling my Fat Fifty can with ONLY Lake City brass I’ve picked up from my local range. I have a little more I need to tumble so I’ll probably upgrade to a 5 gallon bucket when that’s done.

These only need the primers swaged and then trimmed. Then I can load them. I am in no hurry at all though. I don’t want to use up all of my SRP stash.

Hey! I think I recognize the handwriting on that powder can on the right !
It's finally emptied out so I can return it next weekend! I went to test out my reloads on Monday and seemed to have found a good load with the promo. I've also got another batch of 50 rounds with a different bullet to try.
