My latest thought is to paint it FDE to match the grip and buttstock I have on it now and be done with it.
I think I even have a FDE mag or two around here somewhere.
The carpet needs to match the drapes--either go with black furniture or paint the hand guard FDE to match the FDE furniture. I'd go all black, but I'm boring like that.
UPDATE: I bought a can of Brownells Aluma-Hyde paint that closely matches Magpul FDE.

Just want you to know I haven't forgotten about this, I just haven't been in any hurry to get back to this project.

Blits removed by blasting. The substrate below cerakote is removed (well, if it was done correctly), so youre really best just going over it. Krylon holds up like any other basic spray paint. Not great. Best results ive seen from a typical homeowner is with duracoat, shake and spray. It works very well, actually. Ive done a few guns that way. As for what id do with it? Od green with black small parts is a look i like.
I've been meaning to paint it but I don't have a shop or garage and the weather went from rain to blistering heat so it's still on hold.
