As much volume CTD has, wouldn't it be easier to just refund the money??

Apparently that's what they thought, too. Much easier to refund only the cost of the three magazines they didn't send... so I ended up paying almost $22.00 for a single magazine, whilst also giving them a $50 loan for a couple of weeks, interest free.

Sucks. They're not a horrible company... just really disappointed in the lack of any regard whatsoever. And pretty miffed at what I ended up paying for one mag. Instead, I've got to wait till next week before my money is credited, when if they had just read my email, they could have had my new mags already shipped. Hell, I might have HAD them already by the time I even get my credit.

Nice. :(

So they ended up charging you full shipping price for one mag as the would have for 4? I would be pissed!!!! JoeBob has good prices even if you include shipping. 3 PMAGs would cost you a little under 15 bucks each including shipping. Keep an eye out because they offered a special earlier this year for PMAG with free shipping and a special price as well. I got mine for around eleven bucks shipped.

I'd call their customer service 1st thing next week and explain nicely why you're not happy. They should make it right. If not, I'd throw that one P-Mag in the cheapest mailer I could back to them and ask for a FULL refund, including shipping, because it's not what you ordered.

I've ordered from botach before. It was on an item they said they had in stock. After I ordered they apparently didn't have it in stock. They did get my order to me it just took roughly 4 weeks time. Maybe they have gotten better, but if you are in a hurry for mags I would look elsewhere.

No,they suck. Google them at look at the reviews. Lots of bad ones. Personally, I've ordered a few times from them with mixed results. The last time took forever to get my product, only to get the wrong stock number! Never again...

I've done business with Joebob Outfitters twice now and they have great service and always pretty competitive prices for most accessories. Since it's just up in wichita my stuff gets here within 3 or 4 days. They also offer discounts for military and leo's and for several different forums.

Ended up ordering a boatload of stuff from JoeBob's... Too bad CheaperThanDirt. I guess if you'd have shown a bit of interest in my situation, not even bent over backwards, but even acted like you gave a little bit of a damn, maybe that $250 order would have gone to you instead. Not to mention the future. And oh yes, there will be LOTS of ordering in my future. LOTS AND LOTS. :D Just ask my wife... she rolls her eyes when payday gets here and I'm hitting up the classies! Oh well. We'll see how well JoeBob's takes care of things. ;)

SO I went ahead and sent another email. Not back to the original CS rep, as I was sure that would just get File 13'd, but another new email that I figured might go to someone else. Here is what I wrote:

Just wanted to drop you guys a line and let you know about my recent experiences with you. Irodered 4 pmags, got one in the mail, no notice of anything else... 2 weeks later I email and am told they are out of stock. Well, thanks for the notice... NOT.

So your CS rep says she can either refund me or substitute a different item. I specifically say I do not want a refund, I want some mags, since I've already been waiting a couple of weeks... list several item numbers in my return email and offer to pay the difference.

The reply I got was a single line stating I had been refunded. Obviously, I'm not too happy about it. When my items could have been shipped out that same day, now I have to wait until at least after the holidays before they can ship, and that's IF my credit is processed quickly.

Well, I made sure to post about my experiences with my fellow shooting enthusiasts on www.okshooters.com. Here's a link to the forum thread if you'd like to see it.

http://www.okshooters.com/showthread.php?133360-CheaperThanDirt.com-pretty-disappointed

Since that time, I've placed an order for around $250 with another online vendor for more mags, a sling and a quad-rail. And I'll be placing many, MANY more orders in the future. But somewhere else...

The problem I had was that there seemed to be zero concern for whether I was satisfied or not, or for what I wanted to happen. Yes, my refund was handled promptly... but that wasn't what I wanted!

Not to mention that after the refund, I ended up spending $22 shipped for a single PMAG... since the shipping costs obviously weren't refunded. Not exactly a great deal, all my frustration and waiting notwithstanding.

So... with that, I'll leave you to peruse the forum thread I posted (should you care to do so) where your company's policies have been viewed 771 times, as of this writing.

And since I have just gotten to the place in my life where I can begin to buy "toys" for myself, I will make sure to shop around in the future. And there will be LOTS of future orders... Thanks.

Sincerely,
***** *******, M.D.

I feel this is how we should shop. Respectfully let vendors know what we expect, and that we are going elsewhere. I'm not ranting and raving, cussing and pissed off. I'm just disappointed and feel they should know not only what I expect in customer service, but also that they had a chance to keep me as a customer AND that I have already made a larger concrete order with one of their direct competitors and have the means and will be making many more orders in the future. They may not make much on just a few PMAGs, but for me, sometimes the point of making some small purchases like this is to see how they will handle them, should any problems arise.

Just ask NewEgg.... they've gotten probably $5k worth of orders from me and mine in the last 6 months alone. And will continue. Same thing with MonoPrice, though, probably only about a grand through them. I guarantee I will be spending alot of money on firearms accessories in the upcoming years.

Now... if I can just find a use for liquid nitrogen in firearms and shooting, I can use the new dewar I bought for my computer hobby for double-duty. :D

Cheers, folks!

Speak up to those vendors, let them know what you expect when you're spending your hard-earned bucks!
