And Oxford MS has what to do with England?

who knows. I think Oxpatch just never seemed dignified enough.

and we have a sister town in france, go figure.

But oxford (and ole miss especially) has had a lot of dealings with the do you/don't you rename things. We have two confederate statues in town and on campus, a confederate cemetery, buildings built by slaves and a building with bullet holes from the '62 riots where a man died trying to integrate the university. It's a place with a lot of screwed up history.

Oh, and we have buildings named for people who advocated lynching.

Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee!

There is a Lee school here in Shawnee.

Maybe I should get my panties in a wad and write someone a letter about how it hurts my feelers.

Weren't they also slave owners?

Maybe we should tear down the Washington Monument...

perhaps we should/could. It'd be a heck of a debate. I'm not personally for it, but the idea that changing or removing a monument once built (or school named) is beyond debate is foolish.

But none of them lead an active rebellion and lost, so slaves aside, that seems like a good place to start.

And did Lincoln actually own any slaves?
