I've done it twice, I was put under; count backwards from 100 and I made it to 97 then woke up in the recovery area.
Like they say, the prep is the worst part.

97 is the last number I remember also!! When I woke up, I asked when they were gonna start. "We're already done, Hun."

I had a patient today tell me she was having a colonoscopy this weekend but was given the "Happy Colon Foods" kit? I had never heard of it before, apparently it's all the prep meds you need but in food form instead of the beverages... I'm curious to see how this goes for her.

Wife and I used the doctor at the south west medical center gastro wing.
Cost $40 bucks for the kit which includes things you can drink and eat along with the stuff that cleanses you that you mix with a tube of taste good stuff. Soup and crackers type stuff.
The entire experience was great and the best part was the doc said I needed to come back in 15 years. Zero polyps.

Paternal grandpa died from not getting checked when the Doc told him to, he was having a few cramps and a bit of blood from time to time, 4 1/2 months after he cancelled the appt he passed at 72 years old. Dad started at 50 as did I and we both are on the 5 year plan for follow-ups. Never even knew the Doc was back there and I felt nothing before, during or after. DO IT!!

@lasher, no offense intended here, I'm asking you for the benefit of others reading this thread who don't want to go through the screening process - if you had had the opportunity for some kind of HCC screening test, would you wish now you had taken it? That your liver tumors could have been found and treated many years ago before they became an issue, in spite of some mild discomfort and rare risks to the procedure?

Seriously... maybe we should go ask Don Franson's wife if she wishes there had been a test to screen for his pancreatic cancer? Because I can tell you, both the liver and the pancreatic versions are essentially JUST like colon cancer - by the time you're having enough symptoms to warrant looking into it, it has often been there quite a while and treatment is going to be a big big deal. Surgery, chemo, radiation, etc.,

I had it done
So I'm nearing 60 and have avoided the doctor and procedures for my age, been having some pain and the doc set me up with a colonoscopy, BUTT, I likely need not say I don't want my butt probed it's a 1 way street that is outbound.. Anyone have some tails, to share in regards to the procedure ? After reading this link I'm likely going to cancel for the second time, the 1st being about 10 years ago..

a couple of years ago. I will give you a tip. Go by a couple bottles of miralax. Take a gallon of water and measure approximately 125 grams of miralax and put it in the water. Drink it all over the course of two hours. Hen you wait and in no time you will be going to the bathroom every five minutes. The crap the doctors give you is horrible. I couldn’t force it down. All the stuff they give you is is miralax and electrolytes. You need to replenish those so drink some Gatorade. If you do it this way you won’t have any problems. As for the procedure. They put me out with propofal and I didn’t know what happened. When I woke up I had the worst gas of my entire life. So I would have plenty of gas X laying around. Other than that it was a breeze.
