It is a great morning. All flu symptoms are gone and I might be allowed to eat real food at some point today! I can't remember the weather forecast for today. Is it snow, hail, tornados, or Fall?

Grand Staircase - Escalante (Escalante being Spanish for "staircase," I think.) The three levels of the staircase are Vermillion Cliffs (red), the White Cliffs (obvious), the Grey Cliffs and the Pink Ciffs. The Pink cliffs are harder to discern the color in the photo. There is one other called the Chocolate Cliffs, which are much smaller and not seen here.

Here is a graphic showing that part of Utah. Notice in the center the town of Kanab, Utah, which is where we lived and worked for 9 months while getting to see all the wonder of that area.

Good morning folks.

Happy Tuesday
Back at Ya. Just got home about 3 hours ago from 7 weeks in the Lower Rio Grande Valley in Mercedes Tx. Glad we missed all the nasty weather in Oklahoma. My yard is littered in dead tree limbs from high winds, needs mowed, and needs sprayed . One bonus......the asparagus in the garden just popped up. Harvested 2 lbs or so with a lot of heads sticking up out of the mulch.

Fall colors photo tour in 2008 - Arkansas, along Highway 71 going south.

Went to an annual dinner last night at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. This is a dinner and fundraising event put on every year by Eastern European Ministries. EEM started out as one Church of Christ in Texas who started smuggling Bibles into Russia during the days of the Berlin Wall. After the Wall fell, they were able to openly provide Bibles for that area of the world. I don't remember when we first got involved with EEM, but it got to the point that public schools in Russia, Ukraine, and other countries, including the Balkans and even some Islamic countries started asking for Bibles so that they could educate their children with moral lessons. (Correction: the bibles for the Muslim countries aren't for schools, but for individual citizens.)

We have been donating to EEM for years and when we were in Utah with no nearby churches of Christ, we watched YouTube streaming from our church in Mustang and donating monthly to EEM. Additionally, every year, EEM asks participating churches to consider taking up a special collection on what they call, "Million Dollar Sunday." Demands from those receiving countries keep increasing as more countries hear of the work of EEM, and last night, one of the presenters told us of one church that recently donated $20,000. Good start for a good work.

One more photo. This one is from EEM several years ago. This was taken at what was once a Russian "youth camp." It is highly encouraging to see children reading their Bibles under the gaze of the bust of Lenin.

Good morning to all. Had a good day yesterday working all day in Muskogee and now today I'll be a test monitor in one of the Moore elementary schools. Being retired (sorta) is just the best way to live a life!

Button up for more hail tonight!

And Terry, thank you for all that you do!

Somewhere in the two loops that make up the Simpson Reed and Peterson Trails in the area of the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park in northern California.

Now, to put the size of that Redwood base in perspective, the wife is 5' 4" tall.

Good morning, All. Hope everyone had a nice night without too much bad stuff from the storms.
