Because we as a country place mental health last on the ladder in terms of healthcare, because people in general consider someone "defective" if they have mental health issues, and because we as a society don't have the balls to stand up and admit some people cannot or will not function in a civilized society and force them into a situation where they can be cared for, while at the same time protecting THEM from SOCIETY, AND protecting SOCIETY from THEM.

Pretty simple - bleeding heart, touchy-feely, cheap-ass crap.

Most all of our mental health facilities are now prisons, full of people who need mental health help instead of incarceration.

i've never understood why gun owners (as a group) aren't bigger proponents of mental health support (especially when it comes to things like funding).
