Don’t want to wear a mask? Don’t. Be prepared not to go places where masks are required. Want to wear a mask while you’re in your car by yourself or other places you can easily social distance, wear it and look stupid. I agree that for the most part masks are not effective and very few people wear them properly. I also agree that we will hear very little about COVID or masks after Nov 4th. I’m not a doctor or a disease expert. Just an old fart sharing my opinion. I do think that if most doctors were honest on the death certificates we would see a lot fewer deaths with COVID as the cause versus other causes. The incentive/pressure for hospitals and doctors to list COVID as the cause of death is a major problem. Time for another cup of coffee, too early for popcorn.

That' true. It just seems like some don't think they should have to follow the business request.
For me personally, if a business requires a mask I think you should wear one.
I am not a big believer in the mask unless it's medical grade. But if a business has a sign on the door to wear a mask I am going to put one on.
My wife works at SSM Health. She wears a mask 100 percent of the time at work and out in public. She tested positive for Covid yesterday.
True story - guy in Owasso goes to Dr. - receptionist asks "do you have a mask?". guy says "yes".
A minute later she asks again, "sir, do you have a mask?". He replies "yes, I do."
Another minute later she says, "sir, you need to wear your mask in here, it's required." He says, "ok".
He pulls his Trump 2020-themed mask out and puts it on. She rushes around the divider and says "you can't wear that here, you have to have one of these!" and hands him a flimsy blue paper type mask.
A minute later she asks again, "sir, do you have a mask?". He replies "yes, I do."

Very sorry to hear about her being infected and hope she has an easy time of it and gets over it quickly.
As her experience shows, wearing a mask does not protect the mask wearer, but intended to protect others from them. Obviously she must have been around some people who exposed her and probably some who would not wear a mask. Sympathy for you and her and hope she gets well quickly.
Speaking for myself personally, I respect business owner's wishes. Depending on how intrusive they are, warrants whether I will do business with them. I wear a mask if required.
I am also if the same opinion that a lot of the masks I've seen people wear are a joke, unless you're speaking of N95 or better. I'm going to put it this way, let's take Ted's example, if I sent an employee into a contaminated environment pre-covid with a cloth mask, I'd be sued 7 ways till Sunday.
I would have put the blue mask on and then covered it up with the Trump mask.
Like I said... stop while you are ahead.
Actually it doesn't show that at all. You need to understand a few things. Surgical masks, are somewhat designed in the manner you speak, however they DO protect the wearer to some degree. However, cloth masks, which nearly everyone wears, offer no more or less protection for the public than they do the wearer. We are talking about droplets in the air and the fabric isn't one way. Finally, an N95 masks or other respirator types are generally designed to protect the wearer.

You honestly have no idea how she got it. Just like many on my wife's unit, they've taken the precautions required and have still contracted the virus. I'd wager there's still an amount we may not know about CV19's transmission.

Hmmm... offering a cash bonus across the board (regardless of IQ) might not be a bad idea.
Folks that would trade their fertility for cash probably aren't great parent material anyway.
