If congress in their intuitive wisdom decided to make 18 year olds adults in 1965 (26th Amendment) how can they say that they cannot purchase a handgun? I feel the Amendment was to garner political votes but if an 18 year old can join the military and fight and die in some cases for this country then they should at least be able to purchase a pistol. I don't agree with what congress did because many 18 year olds are not adult enough or mature and make some stupid decisions which gives them a criminal record the rest of their lives. Before the change, they could make a dumb mistake and it would be considered as a juvenile I believe and expunged from their record once reaching the age of maturity at age 21.
The libs want voting rights given to 16 year olds.
Indroctronate them in school and gain new voters.

I always thought the 21 year old age limit for buying cigarettes, booze, firearms was total ********. If I was old enough at 17 to be in the US Army and handle M-14's and a 1911 plus all the other neat toys plus be deployed in some 3rd world armpit then I should enjoy the full rights and privileges as any other citizen. These know it all politickans (poly, from the Greek meaning many, and tick for blood sucking little bastards, and an being plural) can all FOAD.

Here, but occasionally There.
Next court for apeal is SCOTUS right?

Actually, this decision is that of a three judge panel. The loser of the case before them can yet appeal to the full 4th Circuit asking for an en banc hearing of more of the justices on that court. If the loser loses the en banc hearing, then it goes to the SCOTUS if it is further appealed.

If they're old enough to fight and die for our country, they should be allowed ALL the privileges they're defending, without exception.

Anything less is beyond hypocritical IMO.
:drunk2:
That's always been my position. Make "adult" 18 or 21, but make it that age for EVERYTHING.
