Update:

So much for luck and good weather. Woke up to rain this morning, so getting the last miles done is on hold. It is supposed to clear out by around 10:00 am, but we aren't sure that the cooler weather would let the roads dry out enough to get them done today. We may have to wait until tomorrow and try to work them pretty early.

Well, it appears God still smiles down upon us. Even though it rhained, we were able to go out about 1:15 pm and start working the last of the roads to be surveyed. Finished the job around 4:15, and we are now gassed up and ready to start driving back to Oklahoma in the morning. Should get back home sometime Saturday afternoon. (The company insists that we not work over 10 hours per day, and getting back to the central part of OKC would take longer than that.

On top of everything else, we will get to be with both our family and our Christian family this Sunday. Looking forward to going to church again.

They say every day above ground is a good day. I'll add that some are "gooder" than others... :lookaroun

Happy Friday everyone!

I agree that every day "above ground" is a good day, but knowing that most of my ancestors were farmers in Iowa, getting 'planted' doesn't seem to bother me as much as it used to 😂. Have a great weekend everyone.

HOME!!!!!

Made it back to Oklahoma City area just about 1:00 pm. Went and had lunch with youngest son and then parked our work van in his driveway so I could give it the job-ending wash job. We hate feeding quarters to those car wash places and not getting a good clean vehicle.

What with climbing the ladder to wash the roof and top edges of the Ford Transit 350, plus unloading all our stuff that we take when on the road, plus getting and unloading groceries, my knee is killing me. Ibuprofen is on the agenda for this evening.

Looking forward to church services tomorrow, and then on Monday, we take the van to the Tulsa area and get it turned in.

Now, REALLY looking forward to our own bed, our own recliner, our own towels, and so many other things associated with home and not a hotel.
