FINALLY!! A day off! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– I didn't get up until 7:15 (work starts at 7! 😁) Now I'm laying under the covers while a baby kitty plays "Kill it DEAD!" with my wiggly feet under the covers! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ She is wearing herself out! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Lazy day for me. Kids are coming over later to do some work in the back yard ... We will have some fun then!!

You guys enjoy this weather! My favorite time of the year. I LOVE things "brisk" ... 😁😘
Enjoy your day off. It's well deserved!

Speaking of a great Tuesday with water back in the home, went to help a friend cover his tomato plants for the freeze tonight. He has about 20 plants and I only had enough tarps and plastic to cover half of them so we picked the biggest green ones not under cover to wrap in newspaper and ripen later. We have done this in the past getting garden tomatoes to ripen in December.
I reserved a dozen of the biggest greenest ones he had to bring home and grill on the pellet stove tonight.
Marinated in Zesty Italian salad dressing for a few minutes and put on the grill at 350 to cook.
Flipped at 20 minutes and cooked another 20.
Took them off, dusted with salt, pepper garlic powder and onion powder before enjoying one of my favorite meals.
Four 5 gallon buckets of green tomatoes, so there will be a lot of green tomato salsa, fried green tomatoes, and who knows what else.
We eat more green than ripe.

But, but, but ... where's the pics?!?!?!?

Looks like we are fixing to take a trip during our L-O-N-G vacation time from our Summer job. I had kind of hoped to head to Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi to catch the Natchez Trace Parkway with Fall colors. However, I probably got outvoted yesterday. Youngest son is going along and he would rather go to see Mount Rushmore and Devil's Tower in South Dakota and Wyoming.

Wife and I made that trip a couple of years ago, but I'm game to go again. I think son's vacation begins on the 24th, but we will have to see how soon we can go. Weather does look OK for the next few weeks up there.

I have pics of the tomatoes we put in buckets yesterday, but 25 degrees was just too much for the plants even though they were covered.
2022 garden season has officially ended.

But, but, but ... I meant pics of them 'maters comin' off the grill!!!!!

Good evening folks

Been doing some Sheetrock work today for a neighbor.
Got all of our annuals pulled up out of the beds and the pots, the deep freeze we had night before last destroyed them.
And got the watering system and misters all out and stored in the shop.

Now the wife and I are watching β€œThe Watcher”. Pretty interesting. It’s based on true events.

Good morning from east TX. I had planned to already be on the road headed north, but after looking at my weather app, I opted to wait until Tuesday when the weather is more conducive to deer hunting.
I overseeded wheat for winter pasture a couple days ago, and I have to put a hot wire around it this morning. Not one of my favorite things to do.

Building any kind of fence is never a project that I enjoy.
