It takes a pure brazen idiot to rip off someone they gave their name and address to... as if we don't have trucks and balaclavas...

So true. Anyone pulled that on me and I would post it all over the web ruining their chances to buy again, at least here. I am a vindictive SOB when crossed.

I only deal FTF and so far (knock on wood) my purchases from OSA members have gone smoothly and hopefully those that have purchased things from me haven't walked away with a sour taste in their mouths.

All in all I think that we've got a pretty good bunch of folks here but it's the same with any purchase......do your homework and "buyer beware".

Did you know Jerry Seinfeld HATES Andrew Dice Clay?
He says he's a hack and isn't funny at all and the only reason people know the punchline came up is because he does that "owe" crap after every joke.

It was funny hearing Seinfeld go off on him.

I saw Dice Clay at a comedy club in Denver several years ago. My buddy was the talent coordinator at the Denver comedy clubs and got me front row seats and backstage. Dice Clay was a total jerk! With my buddy, I've met a fair number of comedians and most are very personable.

If I see something I’m interested in I use Gun.Deals to find the best price I could pay to get it new. Then I decide what my price is on his based on that info, condition, extras, etc.

Now, I’ve got him invested a little bit, sending pics, answering questions, just the normal stuff I’d want to know before purchasing anyways. I will send the link or a screenshot to him saying something like “there are a couple variants of your pistol available, can you confirm if this is yours?” I’ve got a few different reactions to that:
- “Wow didn’t realize I overpaid or prices must have went down, do you have an offer?”
- They try to ignore the pricing listed and just say, “Yup.”
- Ignore me or just stop replying all together.

Had this one guy though who posts his overpriced crap on here and Armslist. Now I was legitimately interested but not at his price and his post was defending his price with sarcastic remarks. Wanted to troll a bit... I sent him the link ($300 less than his FIRM price). He responded back with “Yep that’s it, my price is still $1200 because you don’t have to go to an FFL and fill out paperwork and show your ID. There is Value in not having it registered to you. Show up with the cash, no questions asked.” I immediately quit communication with him as it’s obviously someone I don’t want to be associated with. Reported it and went along my way.

@druryj it is much different than it was back in the early days of OSA. Thankfully you can block the folks that only show up once every 5 days to spam their wares.

I joined several years ago and just never posted on here . . . had too many other forums I was on.

I have an upper for sale and figured it would be hard to sell since I'm not active. So I decided I was going to get way more active (not just to sell the upper but to get into more discussions that have a local and state impact).

I made an effort to get off of those and become more involved here. I'm much happier.

I've been burned twice, both by members with substantial posts because I thought trusting them in a mail transaction when they told me the money was in the mail, I shipped the product to cross paths down the highway somewhere. Both times the money never arrived and the product got "stolen from the front porch or lost in the shipping process" even though I showed it delivered. You know who you are.......
Money in hand now before the product is shipped or FTF. I've done less than 10 transactions in the classifieds in all my years on this forum. Normally just delete the entire forum in the evening when getting online so it's not cluttering up the latest posts forum. Tapatalk is great for doing that.

Yikes . . .
