Went out to our tower site to dump a load of limbs this evening. It's been above freezing at ground temp for over 24 hours, but 1k feet up It's slowly chooching to 34 this evening. There's a conex container for storage out there next to the tower. I thought a dang bomb went off hearing thick ice fall from 1k feet and hitting that mostly empty container. Was about fifty feet away. Glad I wore my brown pants.

Here, but occasionally There.
We live in our RV in an RV park in central Oklahoma. I have no idea what kind of trees these are, but because they still had their leaves, I'm betting they got extra ice because of the extra surface area of the leaves, although small.

The Ford Escape in the front got freed up after taking the photos. Our youngest son has been with us since he lost his electricity at his apartment. So, for a couple of days he slept here and did his online job from here. He's now back in OKC with electricity.

Yes, behind that silver vehicle is a 38 1/2 foot fifth wheel.

Second tree next to our Ford F450. The downed limbs are primarily in the bed of the truck. Anything along the side is small branches.

This tree is behind our RV site. Parts of it has narrowly missed our RV.

The front of the RV is to the left. In spite of the tree carnage, I have not seen anything that I would call real damage to either the RV or the F450. (A friend in town had a tree limb drop through the roof of his outdoor metal building. At least about a foot of the base of the limb is inside.) We have nothing like that.

God looks out for old folks and some fools.

These last few days have been rough, I’m getting to old to work like this. Do not like ice storms, lol. Put up lots of wire and poles, cut hundreds of trees that have feel across our line and slipped and busted butt along the way. I have not meet one person that was mad before no power, all very supportive. It’s nice working for people that appreciate you, makes the day a little warmer. Got to get my six hours sleep now and hit it again tomorrow!

My uncle is a retired OG&E lineman. Not long after he retired, they had an outage where he lived, so he went down to check on the guys working the lines. They asked him if he was there to work, and he said hell no, threw the truck in drive, and went back home.
