Well, I had been making the mortgage payments on my parents house for the last few months. I just don't have enough money saved up for a down payment.

If buying your own place is what you want I will say email code_3 after about a month of looking when I found the house I wanted it was right at two-three weeks till close and I was able to qualify for a down payment assistance Grant, I was out of pocket $700 to close on my house. I'm not saying it is a guarantee but it might be worth looking into.

This whole thread makes no sense. Don't blame it on me. LOL

I think you mean that if he was stable before, and able to save after paying the bills, he's still stable now. There's no need to do anything rash like ask for a handout or take a second job. OP just walks away and lets his parents handle their claim on their house, and he just finds a new place to rent since his rented property was hit by the storm.

So yeah nothing wrong with hustling a second job to earn some more money, but the before-and-after from the tornado doesn't really predicate needing a second job.

So am I anywhere close to what you meant?

Sounds about right.

Sometimes you can't tell if a person walked to work today or brought their lunch.... What the heck was this guy doing living in his parent's house gratis? He should have been making plans then and not after a tornado totaled their house. No wonder we have so many people on the dole. He is forgiven but darn, stand on one's own back legs for a change, no wonder his parents are giving up the house-they're tired and deserve better.

He wasn't living gratis... I think he came back and said he was paying the rent and bills. I could be wrong, but I'm too tired and full of smoked pig to go looking for the quote.
