45 ACP reloading

Being new to reloading pistol I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to use for powder for a 45, preferably something I can get locally so I can have it ready for deer season?

I use IMR 700x. Its a low cost not too dirty powder.

With the 230 grain fmj's I use 4.0 grains. Its about .4 under recommended starting charge.

Its a great round to reload, my cost is right around $8/box (50). Happy reloading!

I use Bullseye and 200 gr lead semiwadcutters.

That 45 ACP is not legal for deer hunting in Okla. the round is not long enough. 1.5" minimum length.

Unique is an old standby and still works well.

jake,they've rewritten the regs to include 45 and 40 cal semi-auto handguns. i'm sure the computer savvy guys will come along and post the section from the regs.

40 cal and larger is legal in OK with a 4" or longer barrel.
