I have the Big Tex Elite and as far as I can tell it is very similar to running a propane as far as i can tell. If you buy in bulk I have bought pellets at Gene Sears
for 15 a bag. The nice thing is about the trager in my opinion is that you can actually cook your food done and it is juicy. Saying that I like a med rare steak but we all have that buddy who's wife likes brown meat. hahaha. I have had my traeger for approx 3 months and I am on bag 7. I use it damn near every day. Gonna really put it to the test and see how long it takes me to break it or wear something out.

I know you will enjoy the food it will cook for you. I have had the same model for about 3 years now.....Ace Hardware carries the pellets, and they are the cheapest price I have found in the metro.

I have several family members bringing me their pork butts now when they want some pulled pork......
