Pretty sure I was just hoodwinked by a plumber. How long has the size and method of connection for a nothing fancy bathroom sink faucet been standard? Pretty sure I was talked into new faucets I really didn't need.
Thanks

I'm not really sure what you are asking. There are different styles and mountings. Did you change a sink to a different footprint like in the article below and your existing faucet no longer fits the holes?

The under sink tap has been standard for a good long time. The hose that runs from that to the faucets can be different, but they're readily available at Homo Depot. And new sinks come with adapters alot of times too if they're not standard.

What was the problem? I just replaced six sinks last year in a house built in the 90s with zero headaches. Another before that built in the 80s again with no problems.

Had a plumber come in and replace a mixture of plastic, copper and galvanized In the master bathroom with PEX. In the process he told me the existing faucets had to be replaced, gave me a song and dance about 1/2 inch verses 3/8 and other BS. I was on pain meds and brain dead enough I didn't argue with him but basically he said he couldn't hook up to the existing faucets. The faucets were bought at Lowes probably 15 years ago. As far as I know the supply line hook up for a bathroom sink faucet hasn't changed in my life time.

Wondering what could possibly be different on the old verses what you buy today? These are like $50.00 two handle sink faucets, pretty common.

Wemt to lowes the other day and all they had was 1/2" compression and I had never seen those before. Been using 3/8" for 40 years. Had to go to home depot.
Seems like everybody is converting to pex. You'll even see pex only faucets now
