Best 1911 in the $1,000 Range?

Greetings gentlemen.

Some time back I foolishly sold my Colt Series 70, and I am in the market for another 1911.

I am wlling to spend around 1,000 bucks or a little more, and I want one that is reliable and accurate.

Any suggestions?

I would be glad to find a used one in good condition...can I find something decent in that price range?

Anyone who tells you that they can definitively say which one is the best is not someone you should listen to. That said, SW1911's are the best.

I have a sig 1911 for sale that is very accurate. I believe it had the most features of all the similar 1911 I looked at in that price range.

They(S&W) do make some awesome 1911's in the price range the OP is looking for.

Colt or "E" series S&W 1911.

I have a stainless SW1911 and a subcompact SW1911 Pro Series. They are both flawless and are great shooters.

Ruger SR1911 with money left over for hard-to-find mags and 2013-priced ammo.

As for the Sig, I am a traditionalist and have always preferred blued steel, the research I am doing is making it sound better and better.

That sig is a great deal in the classifieds. I am set on a 1911 in 9mm or I'd have bought it already.
