Hey All,

Anyone own the Colt 1911 100 Year Anniversary Tier III(01911ANVIII) AND shoot it?? Personally I don't think it will be as collectible as was once thought...with prices falling on it at different internet dealers.....well under $1100.

The reason I ask if you have shot your's......how's the hand bite? I know, I know, it depends on how big your hand is. On this model...copying the original it has a short beaver tail and a longer hammer....leading to some owners with a nice bite.

I love the sights, style, that model, bluing, can you tell I like this gun???!!!

Pro's-vs-Con's?? Fill me in on all necessary information.

Thanks!!

One thing I've never understood is 'commemorative' guns.

They depreciate while people keep them in a safe and if they shoot them they just depreciate further...into oblivian and almost always worth less there the non-commemorative counterpart.

Anyway, I would expect it to shoot like the gun it was modeled after which would be considered 'so-so' in my opinion, which is the reason 1911s have been improved over the years.

Next time, just buy an old original and shoot it.
