Decided to dig a few more sweet potatoes to try and clean up the garden for fall planting. Will be planting mustard greens, turnips, beets, collards.

Still more to dig but I had a big pile of vines I wanted to get out of the garden. The piggies enjoyed them.

Nice looking taters. Sweet potatoes should be our best producing crop for the year, fingers crossed lol. I'll uproot our 1st patch this weekend, then wait a month or so for the later planted. We started 4 in pots of cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and sugar daddy peas . Hopefully the heat and grass hoppers reduce before they move to the greenhouse.

I love sweet potato anything.
Onion roasted sweet tators! The best friend a diabetic ever had. Still have carbs so you can not eat to many but it is complex carbs so they break down slower without the spike. Plus my doc says they make up for it with vitamins.

We pulled our 1st planting yesterday and once again, disappointment. VERY rough year. Sure hope the cold dark winter I read about is fictional but the path we've been traveling leads us to believe it's likely coming. Makes me flash back to that old song.. We sure could use a little good news today lol .
