Elderberry processing?

Do any of you have any first hand knowledge to share on processing elderberries for its medicinal properties? I'm very much opposed to cyanide poisoning myself but I do have a ton of wild elderberries growing in the creek.

Yes I have experienced elderberrys. ....never again will any elderberry product pass thru my lips.

Eldrrberry wine is the most dangerous, toxic stuff ive ever drank.

The only medicinal use ive experienced is as an expectorant. ...as in "drink the wine, expect vommiting and extreme diarrhea.

I have nothing good to say about elderberries.

Ha! I feel the same about the agave plant. I had some processed into tequila back in '94 and have hated the whole country of Mexico since.

I'm not wanting to make wine, just dry the berries or make a syrup.
