My favorite until I had neck surgery was a 1st generation (tang safety) Ruger 77 in .270 Win.

Now, I use a .243 Win.

My old Sako in 7 mag, got a 257 roberts I'm working a load up on.

But to be perfectly honest I don't shoot much long range stuff so it really doesn't matter to me.

I shot a Doe at 523 yards with a Remington .243. I will admit it was a bit of a lucky shot. I do prefer a Remington .270 though.
