I have a great summer sausage recipe if anybody wants it. You can use deer, elk, beef or whatever.
Make it in the oven. No special equipment required.
For the record, I love cilantro, but understand why some don't like it as it tastes like soap to them.
We absolutely love black eyed peas. My sister hates them saying each one tastes like eating a little dirt clod.
We each evidently have our preferred tastes.

At New Years I make Hoppin' John starting with dried black eyed peas and I have to rinse them twice.
Then I soak 'em and throw out that soaking water and cook them in low sodium chicken broth.
If I don't rinse the devil out of them, they taste like dirt to me too ("an earthy taste," fancy cooks would say).
