I just bought a Hornady powder measure and having an iss with it throwing a consistant charge. I am using Universal powder trying to throw a 3.2 grain charge and I am getting from 3.0 to 3.2. I clead the measure out 2 times with Hornady One Shot and I am using a micro charge adjustment control. I have an electronic scale and a RCBS 502. Is 2/10 gr anything to worry about, this normal?

I've never used Universal powder but mine with WST is dead nuts. I never have to mess with the adjustment once set and I've ran about 4lbs of it through it. I do get up to around .2 grains of variation with VV N320, but it is a stick powder, just very small. I only use the standard metering insert for pistol loads.

I've also ran a good amount of BLC2 through it when loading .223. I've used both the standard and the micrometer insert. They both keep it around .1 grains from charge to charge.

It's most likely your powder. Some just meter better than others.
