I'm trying to do some research on some handheld gps units, specifically ones that I can pinpoint locations and see them on a map once done, don't have a lot of experience with these, also don't wanna drop a lot of cash on one, mainly looking for one so I can trace out my property markers on my land and get a overall view of it for future use, any help is appreciated, thanks

Google earth works really well.
I'm not one to buy cheap stuff to save a dime. Typically a high end buyer, but I gave a guy $20 for an etrex by Garmin. The software hasn't been upgraded in 10 years, but I use it elk hunting in New Mexico.
Private ranch. I walked up on the right side of a ranch road, and walked down the other side of the same road.
This unit could show the difference. I was amazed. It's basic graphics, rudimentary actually, but it got me in and out.

FYI, never go anywhere without a magnetic compass as a backup.
If the GPS can't see enough satellites in canyons, it won't give accurate directions.
