Well I can speak from current experience.
I damaged my plantar facia awhile ago and didn't seek medical treatment. So the past two weeks I am walking around in an air boot on my left leg.
I bought, (invested), a pair of Asic Gel Nimbus shoes, and HOKA Bondi 8 shoes, plus an insole. Without the boot, I can actually walk around the house pain free. Haven't tried these outside yet.

Ha, been wearing New Balance for years, 505s were my favorites for fit. Have not been totally happy with the past few "improved" versions. I sprung for some 990s a couple days ago that felt good. Hope they live up to my expectations. Thanks for the enlightening postings of different opinions.
