America’s rich are renouncing their citizenship at record levels - just to get richer.

Startling new data from Uncle Sam show that defections by Americans are expected to double this year, largely to avoid any stiff tax bills resulting from the proposed 55 percent hike on the rich - as well as the likely expiration on Dec. 31 of the Bush era tax cuts.

As many as 8,000 US citizens are projected by immigration officials to renounce in 2012, or about 154 a week, versus 3,805 in 2011, or about 73 per week.

Those aren't Americans who are fleeing the country to avoid high tax rates.
They are mostly expatriate Americans, already living in other countries, renouncing their citizenship.

This whole ideology is just intellectually dishonest, hypocritical and childish. Typical democrat.

So did said corporation(s) pay their tax liabilities or not? If answer = YES, then THEY PAID THEIR FREAKING TAXES! In other words they didn't "stick it" to anybody! If you don't like the tax system, then change it. But just knock off the class warfare ******** and don't demonize these folks for doing what you yourself would if you were the CEO. The hypocrisy of the democrats and their lapdog media is just maddening! Does anyone care to look at any of the rich democrats tax returns? Pelosi, John Kerry, Harry "Real Estate" Reid, anybody? Offshore accounts? Utilizing "tax loopholes and deductions"? Oh the horror! It would be just "ridiculous" to even mention such a thing!

This is the concept that makes it impossible for me to vote for a democrat. You can apply it to many issues.

I believe your talking about the requirement of military service for all men, and some women. Other nations do that as well.

I wonder about that myself. Mandatory service for a couple years might be a good thing. We've got guys over there in Afghanistan serving their tenth tour. It's too much to ask. Let the polititian's kid and the plumber's kid serve side by side. Might cause Washington to re-think a bunch of things.
