I found this

A. Except as provided in subsection B of this section, nothing contained in any provision of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act, Section 1290.1 et seq. of this title, shall be construed to limit, restrict or prohibit in any manner the existing rights of any person, property owner, tenant, employer, or business entity to control the possession of weapons on any property owned or controlled by the person or business entity.

B. No person, property owner, tenant, employer, or business entity shall be permitted to establish any policy or rule that has the effect of prohibiting any person, except a convicted felon, from transporting and storing firearms in a locked vehicle on any property set aside for any vehicle

I feel simple because I still don't quite follow. Im reading that they can have you arrested and charged without asking you to leave.

Specialist3,

For Government buildings doing business with the public.. there is no exception....if you go into one of those carrying concealed or open, you can be arrested. That is covered in the SDA handbook.

The regulations / laws pertaining to your question about private businesses aren't covered in the SDA so much as they are covered under your local trespassing laws.

As I understand the trespass laws.... if you go into a posted business that has a 'No Guns Allowed' sign, they can ask you to leave... and if you fail to do so immediately, then you can be issued a trespass warning by the local police. The bad thing about that is you can't ever come back on the property again [even the parking lot]. If it happens to be your favorite grocery store, your bank or some other place of business you like to frequent on a regular basis... life could become kind of difficult for you.

The part of the law about business and controlling possession and carry of firearms did not change with SB1733. It's the same as it was under concealed carry.

The part about the penalty for carrying in these posted business will change Nov 1.

Cite...

Because if true I expect that many of us are unaware of any change. I for one cannot find any change and suspect others cannot either.

So help us out and point us to the law that addresses the penalty for carrying in a posted (not prohibited) place.

I'm on my phone now but I will this evening when I get back to my computer.
