Depending on what it is I either upload directly to the site or host it on my own server space.

I prefer to host third party, that way I can relink to a picture again later, or from a different forum, or pull it up on my phone, or a different computer, or any number of reasons. I am still deciding on what to use to replace PB. But I dumped them. Deleted my entire library, and closed my account. I hope they go bankrupt.

Host from my Google Drive account. Upload sometimes.

I just stick it on my 'photos' hard drive and then post it directly from there. The advantages are that third party's do not have access to my photos and I don't risk losing anything if a third party business goes belly-up. I also have a photo editing program on a disc that, again, keeps my photos out of the hands of others.
