The only person that seems to believe it's complicated is you. It's pretty cut and dry if you eliminate the emotions out of it.
>is a thread about several people upset with this business decision, a purely ethical one
>use it as a chance to call out just me

well i can't say i'm not surprised, but here's some bad analogies for you since you guys really like them:

next time your car breaks down, i hope the mechanic says "well, i'd love to fix this for you, but you see the parts will be worth more in the future, so i choose to sell them to you only at that date".

next time your ac breaks down, i hope the hvac repairman says "well, i'd love to fix this for you, but prices spike in the middle of summer, so i'm going to wait until then to bring out your new unit."

next time your #*!hole gets dirty, i hope the store says "well, last time we "ran out" of toilet paper, the price jumped, so we're just going to claim we're out of stock until that happens again, then we'll sell you some".

i could keep going.

I don’t know but it seems pretty simple to me. The market price of an item is what someone else is willing to pay for it.
yes, until hyper stratification makes it where a few guys with all the money decide to buy all the things.
would you like to buy some of that land that bill gates bought up?

Maybe, if I wanted it. You’re sounding like a proponent of socialism where the playing field
should be equalized.

and what if bill gates and ted turner aren't going to sell any of the entire states they own?
i'm saying if someone *opens a business to sell a widget* then it's unethical to take widgets you have on the shelf marked a certain price off the shelf and just wait until the price may be more in your favor (especially when the chance of that happening is almost guaranteed).

otherwise be a 'collector' like the rest of us. what if all the gun stores just kept buying guns like they do now, but just stopped selling them? just because you know, guns will be worth more someday, right?

you're okay with wal-mart, bass pro, whoever, just stockpiling millions of firearms and sitting on them because i mean they have the money, space, and a business right?

Yes; I’m okay with your scenario. The price of an item is what someone else is willing to pay for it. A business won’t stay in business long if they don’t sell to the consumer.

from an ethics standpoint, should have just created another business and sold at the new price. or just made a new website attached to his current business. at least give the appearance you aren't literally pulling stock not just to raise prices, but to WAIT for the moment to raise prices.

what you're missing here is the part where you aren't able to pay for it because it's been pulled from the market completely. the price is ∞
