You met many Jamaicans?
Elon Musk is far more African American than Kamala is.

I find it interesting that we are the only country that insists on referring to black people as something other than black. Going to Europe, the UK, Hong Kong, etc. theyre just black people like we are white people or brown people. The only other label assigned is nationality if they are from somewhere other than where they were currently standing.

As far as filling out any paperwork, I am often tempted to select Other and write in European American. If everyone else gets a fancy name, I dont know why I have to settle for non-Hispanic white.

I don't get how the VP claims to be black? Her mother is from India and father is from Jamaica.

I responded to the "black" post.

African-American infers one thing, black another.

It's all just semantics anyway, since race is a social construct. Kinda like gender - the old science is just a load of White male patriarchal crap.

Yeah, I changed up my post and removed the part where I thought he was commenting more on an African American basis than black/white/brown. That was my bad for not proofreading one more time before posting.

While we are talking about the social constructs of gender, wouldn't it seem more "woke" to separate the traditional gender associated traits from the genders rather than deciding if a person prefers to dress like a boy, they should change their traditionally associated pronouns to fit that? I find it all very confusing and have never been one to consciously seek out labels for things.

I don't spend too much time fretting about it.

The disaster that is our near future will sort out that whole Male Role/Female Role again, and the race thing will sort out like it usually does.

It's all part of the natural order of things, and some group will come out on top.

May the best men win!

Yeah, I get that 100%. It is difficult to equip our kids to navigate all of this nonsense in a healthy way though. Kids are trying to claim their sexual preferences in late elementary/middle school! Kids that havent even hit puberty yet are taking some very rigid stands on who they think they are and which labels they choose to associate with. It is difficult to try and keep our kids from getting caught up in all of it while so many of their peers are being encouraged to by their parents.

I'm glad I don't have young kids.

Maybe this will help you. Kamala Harris as a child and her grandmother.
