Every day now is Saturday.
I would say the first month you will wonder why you didnt do it sooner then reality sets in and you realize your not just on vacation and have to get back to work quickly so then you syary to get bored and find alot of things to do to pass the time of day.
Your doing it wrong, after you retire you tell your wife you have a new job with a shift change and everyday is casual....Congrats!

I can hardly wait to retire. Hell, I'd retire right this instant if they'd let me, but alas...I still have 7 years, 1 month, 29 days, 17 hours and 40 minutes left.

My wife was a fifth grade teacher, and her teaching buddies all kinda hung together. One retired first, so the first day of the next school year, this newly retired "friend" shows up at school before others arrive, set up a lounge chair and a mug of coffee, and waved to the others as they had to go on in and face a new gang of students.
Don't go to all that trouble, but just enjoy it. It takes a little while to reorient yourself, but it is great.

Congratulations. I’ll never get to retire. Medicare won’t exist when I’m able to retire.
