I shoot 7mm 168/180gr Berger hunting VLD and Hybrids and both kill just fine. I've never, never had anything go more than 10yds after being hit. Fact is most drop where shot. Shot placement is as much if not more important than bullet type.

Personally I would find it difficult to blame a bullet if I couldn't find the animal for an examination. There are too many other factors to consider. Basically I would need more evidence.

Really good article in a past issue of hand loader on VLDs on game. They shot quite a few animals on trip to New Zeland. Also did some wound channel testing in gel. Seems they they don't open as quick some other bullets but when they do set up they do a lot of damage. If I can find article I'll post the month/year it was an interesting read.
