'86 Nissan ZX. Maroon red, 2-seater, white interior, with a wrap-around all-electronic dashboard (like sitting in an airplane cockpit, which was a state-of-the-art wonder back then). Gigantic engine with 5-speed manual. Talk about a "rocket ship on wheels"! Never hit the tach's red-line, but I once got near it. Found out the hard way that the front end tended to "float" about 168 or 169 so I shut it down, and never made that mistake again.

The "shock factor" came from the insurance company. Monthly premium matched (therefore doubled) the monthly purchase payment. After almost a year of that extravagance, I came to my senses and sold that beast... for more than I had paid for it new... to a college kid who was wide-eyed and breathless after a test drive. :D

1972 K5 Blazer. God I loved that thing. Sold it in 2015 for $15K; bought it for $8500. Needed the money for a down payment on the current 2015 Ram 2500 MegaCab I own now. After watching the most recent Barrett Jackson I sure wish I still had that beast. It'd probably be a $50-$60K K5 now.

The number of K5’s that went for over $100k was staggering! 😮

1965 Mustang, sadly with the 6 cylinder engine was the coolest I think since it was my first car. I had others there were muscle cars but nothing cooler then your first classic stang.

Now my favorite car was a 1976 Ford Elite with a 351W engine. Not the fastest I ever owned but it would get up and boogie when I wanted it to. It also rode like it was on a cloud. Great for road trips.
